Yeah, you don't need an anti-static strap as long as you know how to ground yourself - such as touching the metals of your case now and again often - and generally being sensible with your components.

I mean if you really paranoid get one. I have built/diagnosed many computers in the past and I never worn one. If it was paying customers I usually make sure I am ground if I working on carpet.

don't actively try to gather static, touch the case once in a while to discharge electricity.

my bedroom has carpet ;-;, should i go downstairs to my kitchen then?

Probably not a good idea to build on carpet. It'll decrease the chances of you breaking a component.

I have built a few pcs and never have used one ever,I always touch something metal first or plugged up the psu not even turned on and just touch the case.Jayztwocents tested this a while back they couldn't hurt a pc by static shock but hurt a camera display with it
