USB 3.0 Ports Driver Lost

Hi everyone,

I was fixing a few of my drivers due to problems that were occurring with conflicting drivers on my windows 10 device. That was over 3 months ago and since then I have not had the ability to access/use my USB 3.0 ports. I looked back through my driver listings and there was so USB 3.0 drivers listed. I thought 'oh well I'll just roll my computer back and retrieve the drivers' but due to the time I'm not certain which roll back it will be and if I go the wrong roll back I could ruin my system so that is no longer an option.

My second thought was to look on the internet for available USB 3.0 drivers and found none. I then called MSI (as I have an MSI motherboard) for assistance regarding this issue and they stated that they cannot help me, there are no USB 3.0 drivers on their website and all he could do was direct me to their drivers webpage.

I thought I may just have to reset my whole computer to get the drivers back but as I'm not sure if this will return the drivers I don't want to try that. The only other thing I could think of would to be to do a complete fresh install of windows if resetting the system doesn't work. However I wanted to hear what everyone here thought would be the best way in order to get my USB 3.0 drivers back, without having to loose all my data and programs from the computer. Any help is much appreciated.

reinstall windows onto a different drive , if it works and the usb ports work then you'll still have your old instalation you can migrate from.

Fun drinking game: at the end of the week, take a shot for every thread started because MSI said they can't help you.

Have you tried physically reinstalling the cable? What motherboard do you have? If it has multiple 3.0 internal headers, try a different one.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Did you check to see if they're listed in Device Manager?

And you can right click on an entry and select Update Drivers.

Or a fresh Win install is one of my faves.

Or an image restore.

I want to know what motherboard is that. Just for check if there really no drivers on MSI website. MSI website is good enough and has good support of drivers. But in case you really can't find drivers on MSI website, you can download drivers from USB controller manufacturer.

I have an MSI Z77A-GD55 motherboard. And yes I have have attempted checking the connections. It is within device manager where there is no drivers for USB 3.0 present.
