I currently have an rog rampage v extreme mono. And 2 sticks of (i think 8gb) vengeance lpx 3000mhz.

At the moment if I try to play the lastest highly demanding games everything freezes and locks up making a horrible buzzing noise. I think this be because I'm using 2 sticks of ram on a quad channel mono.

If I buy https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMK16GX4M2B3000C15-Vengeance-Performance-Desktop/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1532519440&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=corsair%2Bvengeance%2Blpx&dpPl=1&dpID=41AGvSmY-fL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1 will it be compatible with what I already have?

For completion the rest of my specs are an 1080ti with a i7 5930k.

the symptoms are from faulty psu, the 12v rail, check your psu

Yep It seems from power demanding

I play with a 4790k+1070 1440p 165hz and neither my cpu or my gpu is bottlenecking anything, cpu usage may be on the 70% playing high demanding games at that frames but not more and if CPU usage is 100% you see a lag spike, and when I oc'ed bad my ram It only showed as a memory error in everygame I've played , not freezing or bsod.

That kind of freezing seems to a bad psu or bad mobo, and that mobo is not a cheapy one.

i changed so many psu over the years that i learned that even tier 1 psu can fail, if it freezes it's psu, if it freezes and the psu doesn't fix then check the cpu, if it continues, how the heck did you kill the ram and the system was booting?

The psu works fine (Or at least it has for 2 years) could it be the new power cables to the gpu I bought?

Wait what new power cables? modular psu? , same model? or you just buy a random cable? that could be your problem

You should use only the cables that the manufacturer tell you, never use another manufacturer cable for a psu , It may be similar but sometimes specs are different.

What model of psu do you have, I've got a 80+ silver that lasted less than 24 hours, and if it's a crappy psu you should replace it asap, you dont have a low power pc , that i7 5gen and a 1080ti would put to test an average psu

It's a corsair rm850.

The cables I got are (8pin pcie 30cm Corsair Cable AX1200i AX860i AX760i RM1000 RM850 RM750 650 Black Quantity: 2) from ebay seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/modpcuk?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754.

I'm on my phone and I can't get a direct link to the item to load.

ok did the seller tell you that he is not shipping unless you give him a good feedback?(seems that he is blackmailing for a year now)

can't say if the cables are good or not, there are reports that the seller was not shipping unless the cables were reviewed as good, that apart from stupid also makes it shady, you will have to try a different cable directly from Corsair just to be sure

yes, it is compatible, just maybe bottlenecking because of the gpu and cpu combo, maybe upgrade your cpu or downgrade the gpu

Why in the world would he downgrade the GPU. lmao

That CPU is perfectly capable of handling its big brother.
