I was cleaning dust from my PC internals earlier and found this "Wet" or "Sticky" patch on my motherboard, below my CPU and above my GPU. Just wondering what it is, and whether or not I should be worried. Thanks.

Yeah I'd definitely be running my finger under that heat pipe to see if its damp.

It's what seems to be leaking. The big chunk of metal.
The only way to take it off is by taking the motherboard out and unscrewing the VRM block.

It's not a race to the bottom.

It's an issue with the thermal pads overheating and releasing what appeared to be thermal grease. This was apparent on my 970 gaming motherboard until the VRM's completely fried and I had to RMA the board, which took two months for me.

 

I trusted MSI once with my motherboard and GPU.

 

Never again.
