Yes, but if you can at all afford it get at least a 250GB SSD. I went for the cheaper 120GB ssd and I still regret it.

Yes, but you'll want to make sure you save and install other things to another drive.

I've got a 120gb and just bought a 500gb. I didn't really have anything on my 120gb and it was always running at 10-15gb left. Not sure why, but 250gb minimum would be best.

Yes, but a 250GB SSD which isn't much more expensive will be able to hold your favorite programs and a few games

I was planning on getting a 1tb wd 7.2k drive to go with it

120GB isn't much. 250GB is the lowest I'd go since one of the main reasons to have an SSD is to load into games quicker. Also, an SSD advertised as X GB is really 0.85X GiB usable space since

  • 1 GB = 10^9 bytes while 1 GiB = 2^30 bytes = 1.074 GB, and your filesystem will measure in terms of GiB
  • You either need about 9% free space or a second partition that's about 9% of the SSD's size for overprovisioning.

i plan on using ssd just for OS only, and HDD for mass storage/games.

Just for the OS and nothing more 120gb is enough, but if you want to keep games on the SSD as well, i'd say to go with at least 240gb.

i would get a separate drive anyway.
