Issue with NF-F12's

Damakos

Hi Guys,

As you would have probably guessed by now, I have an issue with my new NF-F12's (PMW).

I upgraded my system fans from a mixture of corsair AF120's and SP120's, to some NF-12's (the case is a 350D if that helps).  When I booted up my system after the upgrade I got an error message saying that I have no CPU fan...despite the two attached to my radiator going.  Reset, tried again and it booted up, but one of the fans wasn't spinning, so took off the side panel and pulled out the fan header and put it back in again and it started up.  Bit of fiddling later (getting rid of the splitter seems to make them more likely to turn on) I booted up a game, which with the old fans, managed to stay at a decent enough temperature (about 40 degrees), but the temperature shot to about 45/50 degrees instead, and the fan speeds for the CPU fans were about 480rpm  and not increasing, but the other fans are at 600/800rpm.  Also, I was told that the sound of these fans were nearly silent, but they are actually louder than the Corsair fans.

Have I got bad fans or am I doing it wrong?

Thanks

seems like you're doing it wrong.

Edit: Are they plugged into the motherboard or into a fan controller?

If in a motherboard, check the fan settings in the bios. If into a fan controller, make sure the fans are getting 12 volts.

They are plugged into the motherboard, and I was using AI Suite to monitor them.  I'll go check my Bios now quickly and report back

Alright, the fans are all set to standard speed, with a low of 600rpm, and the CPU OPT fan is at auto.  Is this optimal?
