Nexus 5X/6P are great options nowadays if you can find them, they both have fingerprint readers and have stock Android so you can be sure of good performance.

The 6P is trash. I tried my hardest to defend it but at the end it was slow as balls and started bending at the volume buttons like everyone elses. Try and find a good s7 or any of the Pixel phones. I also really liked the LG G series.

If you have a little more to spend, the Xiaomi M1 A1 is an excellent choice for around $200 (Aliexpress.com).

My dad has one, and it is amazing. Screen size is perfect. Records 4K. Fingerprint sensor. 1080P display. And only $200.

i vote for Xiami A1 too.

Extremely good entry level phone, with midrange+ specs. CPU is fine for the Price, 4gb Ram is HUGE for that  It has a Fingerprint sensor, is fairly new, and is part of the Android-One program.

Which means, this is basicly an Entry level Nexus. 2 Years Version-updates / 3 Years Security patches are promised directly from google.

Ignore Nexus 5x, even if you get one it's a worse product. 2gb Ram will show it's faces nowadays. And way too old. Nexus 5x and 6p will NOT be getting Android P officially, according to Google. While Xiaomi A1 WILL get Android Q fall 2019.

I am looking for a new phone under $160, ok with a used one, and want a fingerprint reader. Any recommendations would be amazing.

Wanted to give you recommendation for Xiaomi S2, but I see they have bigger price on Newegg and Amazon comparing to local stores here. Difference is huge. Why so? Because of Trump' tariffs on Chinese goods? Right now that phone 4GB version on newegg costs 283$ and guess how much I paid here in Europe locally for brand new in shop for the very same phone? Only 224$ & 3GB version costs 191$.
