Need help finding a (Mid-range?) Camera

My old Camera that I've been holding onto for what used to be the rare occasion that I go on a trip has finally died. And I'm so clueless when it comes to Camera tech that I need a little help...

First, the reason why trips are no longer "rare" is because my life has changed to the point where regular or semi-regular trips are a norm, plus using it for more prosumer activities. So here's what I'd like/need.

- 16 Megapixel Minimum

- Easy to travel with and take out on a whim while in a moving vehicle or at cons

- Useable for taking amateur-ish stills of products

- Rechargeable battery (with ability to buy spares) is a bonus, but not necessary.

CPU - Ryzen 7 3700X | RAM - 64 GB DDR4 3200MHz | GPU - Nvidia GTX 1660 ti | MOBO -  MSI B550 Gaming Plus

What kind of camera are you looking at? Compact? Mirrorless? DSLR?

Budget?

Honestly, I'd just use a phone. Grab an older Pixel, or Pixel 2 when the Pixel 3 comes out. Then not only will you have GPS, you'll have an exceptional camera that's likely as good as or better than a mid-range compact.

If it helps, my old Camera is a Canon PowerShot A810 HD. So I'm hoping to find something like that or better that doesn't break the bank. Budgeting is a little when you don't know how Camera pricing works, but maybe $200?

For 200US you get nothing worth buying. I’d say a Sony RX100 mark iii or later model from what you describe your usecases.

The D500 and D7500 reccomended above are great, but expensive and large and doesn’t sound like the right fit for you. The RX100 does though however. It can be found for $500-600. I would not consider it much worth getting a cheaper model as it will not improve much over your phone unless you go for an entry level dslr but if you do that it gets a lot bigger and you lose a lot of optical quality as the kit lenses are not as sharp as the internal of the RX100.

Agree with the above, just use your phone, it's much more capable than what most cameras you could probably get with that amount will be and its always with you.

Argh, was worried that $200CAD (sorry for not specifying) might be too low. Will go ahead and start saving for the RX100 though!

Just save, and buy something on Black Friday. Prices drop way, way down on cameras.

Visions has some of the best deals I've found.

The RX100 is excellent...but honestly, it almost sounds like more camera than you really need. If you're just looking for quick pictures, there are many other larger sensored cameras on the market for less money.
