Which Headset????

Britster

I'm planning to buy a surround sound headset (with a decent mic) mainly for my ps4 but also want to use it on my pc. So far I've picked the HyperX Cloud ii and the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 but I'm open to further suggestions. Thanks

I would go with the HyperX Cloud 2 or the steelseries arctis five, which has a lit mic, and it is the headset that i use!

or if your ears are big then go with the corsair voids or hs50s

PC SPECS:

Case: TT View 27 Black

Motherboard: ASRock Z370 SLI XTREME ATX

CPU: Intel Core i7-8700k

GPU: GeForce GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G

RAM: 16GB G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3200MHz DDR4

PSU: Generic 800 Watt

CPU Cooler: Stock Intel Cooler(*oof*)

SSD: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO

_______________

NON PC STUFF:

Monitor: Alienware 25 Freesync(i know i have an nvidia card)

kb: Corsair K65 Luxe with MX Red Switches(and a white backplate mod to enhance the RGB)

Mouse: SteelSeries Rival 700 at 1600 dpi

Audio: Razer Kraken 7.1 V2

OS: Windows 10 Home, duh

RGB: Corsair Lighting Node Pro with corsair light strips

Which one of them has surround sound and do you think virtual surround sound is good enough?

Not for some games, its crucial to csgo and pubg.

Whichever one is cheaper, imo console sound isnt that good anyways.

Go out and try a pair of headphones with them

Since headphones are so close to your head.having 7 different speakers inside isn't that different from having just 1,surround is only ever useful in Home Theater situations where you have a large room

Please just DO NOT buy a "gaming headset" and if you do have to buy one get one from Sennheiser or the Stereo version of the Hyper X cloud at the least...

Your best option is to buy a good set of headphones and separate mic but this is probably outside of what you want..

All gaming branded 7.1 and 5.1 headsets are all simulated surround sound with software with the exception of a few that actually have multiple drivers but as noted earlier its pointless this is all a marketing gimmick to get people to buy it...

Surround sound headsets are not crucial to play CSGO and PUBG I can probably hear footsteps and game sounds way better with my Senn HD 558's or HD6XX using stereo.
