How can I trouble shoot

Hey guys. I have an hp pavilion g6 and out of noware it stoped charging. I think it’s not the pc because there’s nothing wrong with it. I will admit I have sat on it with a chair at school (I’m 157 pounds). I’m about to buy a new charger but was wondering if there are anaything troubleshooting ideas I should try out

Is there a battery diagnostic tool?  Could be the battery has gone bad...

If not, I'd open her up and check the connection to the battery.
