Are sound card worth it?

Are sound cards worth the money and the space in your computer case? And can you really tell the difference in the audio quality if you have one or if you don't?

You most likely won't. Motherboards have quite good audio already and if yours doesn't you can always fix it externally, which should lower the amount of interference as well.

Unless you have an ancient motherboard with crude on-board audio, no. Modern-day motherboards do a good job of audio output already that you won't need a sound card, and even if you do use one, there probably won't be much difference.

Pretty much the only reason to go with a discrete soundcard these days is if you do professional audio-work and need some special connectors/hardware. Even budget-mobos these days sport better audio than professional cards from 2010 did.
