I have been using PIA since LTT started using them as a sponsor. Even after watching the live stream announcement. I can honestly say that it has been a waste of money. Whenever I am connected to it my internet it practically unusable. The max speed I get over PIA is 6 Mbps but it typically hovers around 2-3 Mbps. It does state it buried on their website and not out front where it should be. I only discovered it after several attempts to use it and having a terrible experience and after buying a year long subscription. I just wanted to give some feedback and a warning. This is not a product that I would be recommending.

Cancel it and switch to NordVPN.

what's up with people in the us or europe always wanting to use a vpn? it's just a huge waste of money unless idk you're some hacker or weird guy surfing the dark net who wants to hide a tiny bit their identity.

a vpn's job is to slow down your connection cause if you want real privacy just cut the cable because vpn or not companies like google or facebook can trace your location, the privacy they promise works as a placebo, there's no real privacy as long as you're connected and sharing information.

VPNs mask your IP, which means you need to break through the encryption to actually track someone using a VPN.

I can tell you from personal experience, when my VPN is enabled and set to Canada instead of the US, my location via IP appears as Canada.

I tried tunnel bear or the one that comes with Opera browser and my IP said I was in vietnam but here's the thing: went into BIOS setup and set my MAC address to a random one instead of the default and then made a fake facebook account named john doe (while using the vpns) just to see if it worked and as soon as I logged in all of the ads were local so those both of those vpns were even more fake than my fake fb account, I deleted everything after that lol

I'm using it to watch location restricted content on YT. Like Hockey WC. I don't own TV, and refuse to pay €40/mo for 2 weeks I want to watch hockey. Mask location to Netherlands and viewed all matches I wanted with American commentary.

Can you elaborate on this with a link?

Insanity is not the absence of sanity, but the willingness to ignore it for a purpose. Chaos is the result of this choice. I relish in both.

You need to lock down the browser youre using otherwise the VPN will leak all kinds of info. WebRTC is especially problematic.

https://ipleak.net will show you if your VPN is leaking stuff. F-Secure and ProtonVPN seem to do a fine job.
