Just need to make sure your PSU has wattage to cover the combined total of all your parts. Use pcpartpicker to map out your build and it will give you an estimated wattage.

Also, check what cables your PSU comes with (6 pins) and make sure it will work with whatever graphics card you're going to get (some high end cards need two 6-pins).

Also, stick to recognisable brands and have a look at the PSU Tier List in my signature.

Just dont check only power for a psu , the psu is the most important part of your build , it gives stability to all your system , its the stability of that power that makes a psu more expensive and reliable , as Ezzy-525 says there's an excelent topic about tier psu's on this forum

I've had 2 rx 480 mining + i5 2500k + monitor (on a 800w psu) drawing 350w from the wall, any 500-600w could run almost any single gpu build but there are from 30$ to 150$ same power so dont cheap on this important piece :D

Tier 2-3 from that list are the way to go quality/price

Case: Corsair 760T  |  Psu: Evga  650w p2 | Cpu-Cooler : Noctua Nh-d15 | Cpu : 8600k  | Gpu: Gygabyte 1070 g1 | Ram: 2x8gb Gskill Trident-Z 3000mhz |  Mobo : Aorus GA-Z370 Gaming K3 | Storage : Ocz 120gb sata ssd , sandisk 480gb ssd , wd 1gb hdd | Keyboard : Corsair k95 rgb plat. | Mouse : Razer deathadder elite | Monitor: Dell s2417DG (1440p 165hz gsync) & a crappy hp 24' ips 1080p | Audio: Schiit stack + Akg k712pro + Blue yeti.

You don't!
Because if you ask this way, you won't need it anyway.

What you want is a good quality unit first.

Watt comes later as most modern components can run off a 400W PSU without any problems.

So 600-800W is just a waste, especially if we talk about the 80plus Bronze crap as there aren't many good ones in that Watt Range.

Get a good quality 80plus Gold one like be quiet Straight Power 11, Bitfenix Formula and so on.

You won't even have Problems with a lower Wattage for various reasons.

So no need to go ballistic on the Wattage.

A lower wattage but higher quality is what you want/need anyway.

As for Components:
An i7-3930K with an RX480 OC (Power Color Red Devil) can run off a 400W without Problems.

A Ryzen 7/1700x with _TWO_ 7970GHz/280X can run off a 550W PSU.

So why go for 600-800W???

If you want to burn down your house you might choose that...

But that's the Problem. Most of those are of so bad quality that its not worth thinkin about them...
