Headphone reviews

I am looking for a new pair of cans and a DACAmp and I was wondering what websites have trustworthy reviews of audio products. Also if anyone has used the hifiman he400i and would like to give me their opinion as well as DACAmp combos under $200 that would go well with them.

Do not trust head-fi. It is an echo chamber of hype. And it seems like people on this site don’t mind their treble boosted to 11 because headphones like the Superlux HD681 (which were the bees knees on head-if) have no reason to be loved. 

 

I know someone who uses a schiit modi stack with an HE400 and it works like a charm with plenty of juice to spare.

HE-400i is good but sometimes to me they just sound dry. I personally prefer K7xx and DT880 over it

I actually like the HE-400i  though I have a small head and they are a bit loose for my taste (but the pads are comfy). Audio.. its all just opinions.
