Sup, I'm travelling 2 times in a year with my pc, trust me THERE IS NO SPACE FOR ATX CASE 100000000000000000000000%, now when we have that cleared out, we can begin. I have my main rig with atx mobo+1080ti+r5 1600+16gigs of ram in fractal design define s, but it's humungus, so like I said I needed a smaller computer, so I builded a computer with matx mobo+r9 270x+8gb ram+i5-4670 for cheap af. Builded custom case myself, so I could have the smallest case possible for the PC. The temperatures are OK, but it's kinda trippy, sometimes the network card disconects and other shit happens, also while it's enough of perf for some games, but I miss my main rig perf :C.

Options:

  • 1. Sell my 2nd pc and rebuild my main rig so it could be smaller, haven't decided if I would choose matx or mitx, I would hapilly choose mitx, but don't want to spend ~120€ for good sfx psu also new cpu cooler and many other shit, because in that conversion, even if I sell my current psu, cooler and some other parts, I would loose a lot of money.
  • 2. Just keep everything as is.

I would want to spend on the new mobo and case under 180€ (if X370 mobo, I could maybe add another 20€ to the budget), new cpu cooler (if needed under 40€), don't want to get a new psu (well, if there would be a one under 60-70€ then m a y b e). Want a small, compact case, with decent cooling AND one of the most important things, quietness, just as quiet as fractal design define s if possible :). For case - under 80-90€, for mobo 100-130€. So, what are the options?

GPU - H=37 L=280 W=114 mm
CPU cooler -  (L x W x H), (mm)    56.2 x 97 x 124.8
PSU - 150mm

Gigabyte 1080ti black edition.

pure rock slim or hyper 212 evo (I can use both of those)

Evga B3 650w

2x8gb 16gb

Asus prime b350-plus

SSD MX500 1tb (if possible, I would like to fit in also one 3,5" hdd)

I would really like if in future I could add maybe 2 more sticks of ram, but 60% that I won't do that.

Is a Core 500 small enough? Think it fits most of that stuff, GPU is questionable in any ITX case, it's rather huge.

Assuming "black edition" is the EVGA one, it's actually similar in size to the reference design.

I actually did just that today. Went from ATX in a full tower to an mITX in a small (ish) case. Though, many people do not consider the Corsair 380T to be small for an mITX, it holds a full sized PSU, and though I did have to changed my 140mm AIO for a Cryorig H7 I did not lose any performance from my tests so far.

Perhaps if you want something similar and otherwise like your Define S, Try looking into the Fractal Design Nano S. Keeps ATX compatibility and can hold a good mount of hardware. It's not as small as some cases but has less compromises in the cooling and PSU department.

It's not the evga's one, It's this one:

I haven't still considered, Nano S quite big (I think) and besides my gpu, my psu and cpu cooler is quite small and I think would fit a little smaller cases than nano s, but again, I want it to be quiet with sound deadening material and good cable management and I think the nano s only offers that.

I will consider it later.

Hmmm, that DVD-rom "space" looks stupid for me, I prefeer clean look . Currently I don't have a ruler so I could "compare" the sizes between my PC and this PC, because I don't have a good imagination :). Also, I don't trust Google AR, so that isn't an option either.

The whole point of the Core 500 is to have decent cooling in an ITX case.

Also I'm wondering, how big is the difference between matx and mitx cases? Because I'm 100% sure that matx case will have better cooling, better upgradability paths, it will be quieter also.

The ITX case is likely to have less fans and be quieter.

Micro ATX ranges from kind of small to large

The Q300L is great, but isn't too small

The Core V21 is also good, but again isn't too small.

also when I'm transporting pc I don't EVER take out let's say HDD or a GPU, because it's just too much work and I would not have a safe space to put all the parts somewhere, so I hope the nano s won't fuck up 1080ti. Also, I might just not put any hdd's, because I have 1tb ssd and will try to fit all info in that, but sometimes it's not enough.

I'm confused now.

The Core 500 has one 140mm fan for intake on the rear, and if you use a 240mm AIO for additional intake it should be fine.
