Do you even use your PC?

Simple question. (yes, I do stalk your signatures when you aren't looking.  :P  ;) )

The parts in your main rig, do you actually utilize them or are they way too OP for what you actually do?

Example: A gamer with an i7 and  32GB of ram that doesn't do anything with it vs the person running pro level software doing lots of rendering.

We're all enthusiasts here, it's real easy to get caught up and have mad hardware for the sake of it. =p

I do use my PC. I use my i7 while rendering. I use my 16gb of RAM while rendering. I use my GPU while gaming.

I use my SSD for awesome boot times. But my HDD's are a tad overkill for what I need ;) (2x 3tb HDD)

They were on sale for $80

I have 16GB of RAM, in all of my computers capable of running that much RAM. I find 16GB to be a must when doing anything. I use some many applications at any given time that with any less than 16 I get memory errors.

I utilize my GPU to it's full potential also. The I7 is not overkill in  my main desktop. I can notice the difference in times of booting and application startup between a 3570K, and a 3770K.

Ha ha yeah good question. To be honest, yes, but I am away for school so much that it barely gets any use. The 3770k is pretty OP, but BF4 can take advantage. My monitor is probably the most OP and since I don't have the hardware for 10bit I guess I don't use that.

I do rendering, gaming, encoding, streaming.

Some porn here and there, but other than that, my 5ghz OC is needed (to me only, just my preference).

well I use more than 8GB of RAM as I am a heavy multitasker so that needs an upgrade when after the new parts arrive and I use my i7 to render occasionally but mostly end up gpu rendering the 780 ti was a birthday/christmas present I do use it to max all my games though.

I'm actually debating getting a CM Glacer 240L in the summer when it's going to be really hot or whatever expandable AIO unit is out at the time and will most likely push my OC from 4.5Ghz to 5Ghz just because beefier cooling.

I use a H100, it is fine if i stay away from Prime95 and so on.

The chip must be damn stable as it's been running solid for 5 months :P

I have 16GB of RAM in my rig and I actually ran out of memory once :P

But that was when rendering a 57-track audio file in 32 bit float .WAV with 512-point sinc resampling after forgetting to close Photoshop and War Thunder whilst also running something like 90 tabs in Opera...

8GB however is often way too little for what I use my computer for.

As for the rest of my system, it's mostly very balanced, even a bit underpowered as I still haven't upgraded my GPU and got rid of my GTX 470. But soon. I also get by just fine in professional applications with my 4.8 Ghz 3570K.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

The only time I actually utilize my cpu (3570k @ stock) is when I'm formatting movie files.  I have 32GB of ram, and only have win7 home, so I can't even utilize it.  My graphics card (GTX 560 1GB) is rather underpowered for only a few games I play, but I want a r9 280x or 290 for my next upgrade.  I regret buying the 4770k when it was $200 at the nearby microcenter, as I'll probably never use it.
