Shipping used graphics card?

Probably buying a used card soon and just want some safety tips.

 

The guy seems legit but so far all used hardware I've had a chance to test myself before paying. Given I can't test beforehand and they likely won't ship before I pay (or will they?) what safety measures should I be putting in place? What can I do in the unlikely event it is a fake card? 

 

It's on Gumtree and PayPal is probably an option

as long as you use paypal you will probably be safe they will refund you for just about anything

as long as his account is verified
