Intel trying to be stealthy?

I don't really know how relevant this is (but didn't see any recent topics on this subject).

It seems like Intel published new version of microcode update guidance with 9 generation CPUs under the Coffee Lake S code name. Basically this hints to 9th series being just a refresh of Coffee Lake (also the rumours of 8 core Coffee Lake being released as i9-9900 and Z390 being just a Z370 with stronger VRMs).

However, update guidance has already been edited, as it doesn't show the 9th series CPUs anymore:

What are your thoughts on this: is Intel trying to cover their tracks or is it nothing serious?

The video certainly isn't relevant to this

They basically leaked their 9th gen SKUs so they removed those from the document. That's all there is to say about that.

In the document itself are some interesting things, though. Previously Intel stated that they wouldn't continue to patch their microarchitectures older than Sandy Bridge, but this document shows that they decided to patch Nehalem and Westmere after all. That's pretty good news considering those uarchs are still in production today, especially in datacenters (and I have a dual socket Westmere-EP based server as well).

Nothing serious about that. I mean, as long as the leaks dont include 8 core processors on LGA 1151 (and it didnt), it's not worth their effort to cover up their tracks.
