Hey guys,

I've been searching around the interwebs trying to find some new internet adapters, there doesn't seem to be a lot of new ones coming out or are released any soon.. Is there any tips on what to get here?

I got the TP-LINK T1U Archer, but this one seems to have trouble loading pages while browsing.. takes 1 2 or even 3 seconds to load the page. Tried my dads internet adapter and it was really fast. And that one was 5 years old.

Let me know your tips.. Budget is around 50 - 100 bucks.

personally I would pay extra for a pci NIC so you don't have something that is fragile and takes up a USB port

I don't mind at all, but this is my first PC build and don't really know how it works and if I have the slot for it..

If so, which one would you prefer?

anything from a decent manufacturer like: TP-link, Netgear, Asus, or cisco

this has good reviews but $6 over: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Wi-Fi-Express-Adapter-PCE-AC56/dp/B00JNA337K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1530622664&sr=8-3&keywords=asus+wireless+card

Thanks for helping me out here, uhm.. which of the two would you prefer?

And if you look at the photo.. That is the correct slot right? Would it fit there tho without interfering the Graphics card?

just as a side note why would your network card / wifi card cause so slow page loading?

how fast is your internet in general, this does not sound like a network card problem.

@Henkzorz can you post the signal strength? a good repeater might be the better option (recive and send at the same time).

is this the speed you get via wifi but the pages are still loading slowly?

Yes thro wifi, it's slow because of the network adapter, I used my dads one that makes the pages load instantly.. As I mentioned in the first post. It's a wifi adapter issue :D

Edit; on the one I am having issues with it can take 1 - 3 seconds to load a page. On my dad's wifi adapter it's instantly. And that one doesnt even get the full wifi speed/5g.

My advice is use a PCI express one. Most of them are PCI express 1x cards, so the short slot. I know some of the ASUS ones put the antenna's on an extension wire allowing you to move them to gain better reception. Also, other options for you to look in to are Power line adapters and Moca adapter, though they most likely would be out of your budget, its still something to consider.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
