Motherboard for i7 7700k

I am planning to build a PC with Intel i7 7700k and I'm struggling with motherboard choice. I've took some time to do a research but there is so many options that I'm kind of lost. I'm building this PC for gaming purposes, not for heavy overclocking ones, but it would be nice to get a 4.9GHz overclock, but again it's not really needed, 4.5GHz is just good enough. I do plan to buy m.2 Kingston NVMe A1000 (I figured out that might be important to note). I don't want to spend too much money on a premium motherboard but still I want to have ability to have that slight overclock from a stock, no issues with motherboard overheating, full performance from a CPU and compability, all that stuff. Please recommend me as much as possible because I will buy everything from one store at once, thank you all in advance.

You'd be better off with an 8th gen i5 but each to their own I suppose. What's your budget on this PC?

The Asus Prime Z270-A would be a nice choice for you, there's 2 M.2 slots, and it's Asus so you can guarantee nice overclocks.

 

The Aorus GA-Z270X Gaming K5 sounds like a nice option too, it's a bit cheaper than the above Asus board but only has a single M.2 slot.

Get one of ASUS's boards, no other manufacturer (other than maybe AsRock) matches their reliability and quality. The Prime Z270-A offers premium features at a midrange price and the Strix Z270-E and Z270-F offer the most features but at a higher cost. Those are the only boards I recommend for overclocking a 7700K other than the Maximus IX Hero which is VERY expensive

Around 1600 euros (which is about 1900 dollars), but price really doesn't matter since I don't want an overkill or budget PC, but a futureproof for few multiplayer games such as those battle-royal ones and occasionally I want to play new games as well (I don't mind playing them on high or even medium details). I'm aiming for 60 fps on a 1080p resolution.

Gigabyte are better, they have dualbios unlike ASUS who I had plenty of shit with when my bios fucked up because there's only one bios on their boards. And before you say "but you currently have an asus motherboard", it doesn't mean to say that I recommend them in any way shape or form. I actually regret using an asus board in my current PC.

It's VRM is pretty crap, I doubt it'd be able to handle an overclocked 7700K long-term

Would Asus Prime Z270-A or Gigabyte GA-Z270X be a good choice if I decide to buy Intel i5-8600K?

You would want the Asus Prime Z370-A, that's Z-THREE-70A, because the 8600K is only compatible with 300 series motherboards.

Personally would go Asus in a heartbeat.
