Posted June 30, 2018 The MSI Gaming M5 ($150) will be my choice of being the cheapest Z370 board that's actually good. Having a post code display is really useful for an overclocking board, while BIOS flashback prevents you from bricking the board because of a bad BIOS flash The Asrock K6 ($170) comes next. It cost a bit more, but the more powerful power delivery means there's no chance of cooking the VRMs (if they do, you should seriously reconsider your case and airflow). 22 minutes ago, Rainbow Dash said: This is the cheapest Z370 board that has proper heatsinks on the vrms and can overclock: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813144113&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= which is worrying, consider MSI makes slightly more expensive boards ($10-20) with double the amount of mosfets and chokes. Probably means they are cheap parts which are unsurprisingly inefficient. It probably won't overclock that well, but if op really can't put a little more into a better board for overclocking at least they got something to play with.
