Hi guys, I registered because I saw some posts on similar topics but didn't find exactly what I needed, so I will be happy to have some help!

I'm running an old build that I got from a relative that no longer needed it, this is the Spec:

Motherboard: Advantech AIMB-580

CPU: Intel Core i7-860, 2933 MHz

GPU: PALIT GeForce® GTX 660 (2048MB GDDR5)

PSU: Antec EA-500D

Memory: 2x 2GB, 2x 4GB (all DDR3 1333MHZ)

Storage: 2x KingDian 240GB SSD, 1x WD 240GB HDD

Chassis: Advantech Micro ATX IPC-5122

So here's the thing: I don't have much time to play, but while I do, the 6 y/o GPU can't take new games at decent graphics/FPS settings.

Currently, I'm not planning on buying a new build because I don't have enough time to play, so I thought maybe I could just upgrade the GPU.

After reading some posts on the matter, I concluded that the CPU won't bottleneck a decent GPU.

From what I've read, it'll be best to get a GTX960 4GB or an R9 380 4GB. (if not, tell me otherwise :P )

So,

-Will one of these two will be the best pick?

-Is my PSU powerful enough?

-Will it fit in my tiny chassis?

-Any other thoughts?

Thanks a lot!

It answers only one of my questions, and only partly. It seems that the bottleneck percentage is pretty much the same (considering this calculator is reliable).

So the question remains, which is better at this price point with this build?

Thanks. Although, why do you prefer the GTX960?

Also, how can I tell if my motherboard will fit into a bigger chassis? I looked into some card dimensions and it looks like I might be a few centimeters short.

1060 6GB. New is better and 580 you can buy only used. Used GPU may be risky - maybe will be good, maybe will work for month. Its not cpu or good mb that you may used for years. HDD and GPU should be new imo.

PS. Sorry for small mistake - I think about Nvidia GeForce 580, and you're talking about RX 580.

Still - 1060 6GB.
