Doing an upgrade. Looking for some tips

Looking to go from a r5 1600 to a 8700k. Any recommendations for stock liquid coolers? will be my first liquid cooled build.

Heres the current build on PC part picker. motherboard recomendations are welcome.

AIO coolers I recommend the Corsair H150i pro or the NZXT Kraken X72. 

Motherboards: Anything within your budget, but I recommend either the Asus z370-F or the MSI gaming pro carbon as they are both good for overclocking.

Dont upgrade yet, let's see if the Intel 8 core will come.

 

As for cooler, get the Corsair H150i pro. More than enough cooling power (even for the Intel 8 core), and it has proven itself.

will the x72 fit in a phanteks p400s ?

Not gonna happen. They will have to lower the clock speed for thermals and what not.  Also, what am I gonna do with all those cores?

exactly why you need a 360mm aio.

 

also, prices of current 8700k will drop if it turns out the 8 core will hit retail market on LGA 1151

its not gonna drop by more than 20 bucks.  You know how intel is

8700k launched at $400, now it's $340. It will drop more when it loses the 'top of the line' status :D

Replacing the Intel mayonnaise with liquid metal + beefy air tower would give a better result than an overpriced aio.
