I’m not quite sure what topic to put this in so forgive me if I’m wrong, my computer freezes for about 5-10 seconds very often. This happens mostly when gaming but even just on you tube my computer still stutters. In some cases my computer will fully freeze and not let me do anything resulting in me having to shut it down and restart. Any help on fixes or why this happens is greatly appreciated. This problem is getting quite annoying as it results in me having to stop playing as it just makes games unplayable,,,  SPECS:

Mobo - Gigabyte 970A-DS3P Ram - Corsair DDR3 8GB CPU - AMD FX-8350 ;

GPU -NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 6GB

You could have a virus and/or your cpu is being to stressed

Check what applications you have open in the backround. Close whatever applications you don't need to be open and that are using a lot of the cpu.

Couple things I need you to give me for diagnosis -

- What temps are you getting while gaming and on idle

- Send me a screenshot of task manager while you are gaming and one while you are watching youtube

Please quote me or @ me in your response so I get a notification.                                                                       I really really really really like small text.

Hi all thank you for your replies my cpu temperature is fien when gaming about 35-40 degrees. I currently can’t get a sc of the task manager but when gaming I have no other programs working and my cpu isn’t running at that much stress. I also forgot to mention in the first poll that I have a second graphics card ( a gtx 1050, not in SLI) could taking this out help the problem?

I assume that you also have the drivers of both graphics cards installed on your computer? Running two different drivers for two different graphics cards at the same time can cause problems.

I would suggest removing the GTX 1050 and properly uninstall its drivers from your system. Also, make sure you have the latest drivers of your main graphics card. Try this first to see if it solves your problem. :)

Ah yes thank you!! I uninstalled my GTX 1050 and did a driver update seems to work just fine now! Let’s just hope they don’t come back. Thank you all for your help!

Different graphics cards do not always play along nicely with each other ;)

You should be fine now. :)
