Yep.

May I ask. Are you using a 1060 3GB with an 8700K? That will be a GPU bottleneck. You will want a more powerful GPU. 1070 at the least if you want both CPU and GPU to be saturated.

Agreed.  Also, a CX650 will run the 1070 as well without issue.

You don't know enough to know about the use case to know that there is this mystical "GPU bottleneck" whatever unless term that is.

What if he's only playing at 1080p 60?

What if he only isn't much of a gamer?

What if the reason for a 8700 isn't gaming performance?

What if he doesn't mind being GPU limited in games?

This obsession with creating "balanced" rigs really annoys me as it does a disservice to the custom PC community as a whole. People should be assessing their individual requirements rather than striving for "balance" or "removing bottlenecks"

I don't mean to be a dick, but I just really think it is something that an active member such as yourself should be made aware of. Food for thought, anyway :)

FYI you can answer this question yourself with a quick google "is my PSU enough" and this was the first link.

These calculators aren't that accurate. They don't count for your system when it is under load, just when it is at idle.

But what would the point be in buying an 8700, when he can save himself money and buy an 8400, or 8100?

I'd love a source for that.

Thanks for all the responses, okay I guess power supply will be enough my question was answered but just one thing you guys mentioned about bottleneck made me wonder, so I didn't buy this cpu someone gifted it to me so I will have to put it in my RIG, is this really a serious problem? I plan on getting higher GPU but it costs too much so I will need some time.
