For a deep learning application that requires insane amounts of memory, I would like to build a Xeon Phi 7295 based system. I'm confused about some of the things I read though since they seem to be conflicting. I would like to consult the experts here for some clarification:

- Does the 7295 in particular boot on its own or not? There have been yes and not statements so far.

-- If not, does it require a specific host processor, as in, a particular Xeon family such as Platinum, or would a Gold or Silver Xeon, do fine as well?

- Which mainboards are out there that specifically support the 7295? I haven't found any. Even my email to Supermicro about this didn't get a response.

- In particular, are there any mainboards that support up to 4 of them? If not, at least 2?

Many thanks if you can help! :-)

I know this will answer none of your questions, but please make sure the application is compatible with the Xeon Phi. I know that programs that run on the Phi have to be made to do so.
