be quiet! System Power B9 450W vs Corsair CX series CX450

I'm bored of writing too much. Long story short, I want a budget pc, and I need a PSU 400W-450W.

Should I get the be quiet! System Power B9 450W or the Corsair CX Series CX450?

Which one is better?

(The be quiet one is cheaper)

Not as simple as that. The CX isn't particularly quiet. The B9 seems to actually be DC-DC, so it's not totally crap. And be quiet tends to use quite decent fans. And the CX is not even Corsair's best low budget unit, the Vengeance is without a doubt better.

"It's not totally crap" could be said about the FX 6300, that doesn"t mean you should buy one

Sooooo, which one would you prefer using? Yes, I would prefer the PSU to be more quiet, but that in itself is not a selling point for me.

I would say the CX, good reliable unit. I have the M version in several builds.

Not totally crap, as in, any group regulated PSU is automatically thrown into that pile. As it's not group regulated, it can't immediately be thrown into that pile.

I can't find any reviews of the B9, so I won't recommend it. It does seem promising, though.

If the Pure Power 10 400W or Vengeance 400W is available for roughly the same price, one of those. If they aren't, the CX450 is a safe choice. A surprisingly long warranty on that thing, 5 years.

Then, I'll probably go with the CX450, thanks for the recommendations guys!

Be quiet has a lower fan RPM and should be quieter.

So if you want a quieter unit, get the be quiet, though I'd look at the 400W Pure Power 10 as well...

Since I can't find reviews of the B9 I'd go for the CX450.
