Is Lenovo Thinkpad still worth it ?

Hi

My name is

Jensen.

Im a college student on budget to get a laptop for work usage only.

No gaming or anything, just for work.

There are few programs that i will be using for my work which are :

AutoCAD, CNC Simulator, Cx-Programmer, RV-E2, PCB Wizard etc.

I would like to ask everyone's opinion about getting the Lenovo Thinkpad to run the programs I mentioned above.

Will it run smoothly ?

Will the laptop lags or freeze when i use it for a long period of time ?

Does anyone has any experience using this laptop recently ?

Is it still worth it to get ?

I would like to hear from your experience and opinion.

Thank you.

ThinkPads are worth it if you want the build quality, keyboard and/or the quadro cards, just like basically any other business and workstation laptop will be (ofc there will be bad apples). The lag depends on what model you are asking about and how big the simulations and autocad models will be.

If you want one of their P series then wait until the new models are out, they will feature 6 core CPUs and pascal quadros

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.
