Heating issues with new liquid cooling procecssor

I just got a new liquid cooler and finished installing it to see that i have temps around 60-70 degrees celsius, this is better but not the significant upgrade I thought it would be. I feel like I must be doing something wrong as I usualy hear people operating with extremly low temps.

What liquid cooler do you have and what air cooler are you comparing it to?

Well, it has a measly 120 mm radiator, so don't expect very low temperatures with it.

Expensive 120mm liquid coolers struggle to outperform bug dual tower air coolers and I dont expect this cheapo one to perform nearly like those. Expecting that tbh

It still just dosent make any sence that that would be the case, i read lots of reports of people having better cooling

yeah, better than stock air cooling, but not over a mild aftermarket HSF. the 120mm AIO are not worth their asking price. to lower the temps even more (if possible) most buy another fan to increase the airflow through the radiator. but then noise is a factor and now cost with extra fan. as said, a large mid/high ended air cooler knocks the socks off of 120 AIO coolers. sorry you got swayed, but they are not the best over your old 212.

Am I reading something different to yours? People report about 5C better than 212 evo and 10C better than Intel's stock crap, which means this thing is at most as good as a 120mm medium sized single tower air cooler with 1 fan, like the Cryorig H7 foor example.

If you reallywanted to ga the AIO route, you should have bought at least a double radiator for your setup.

That being said, 60 to 70 degeed Celcius under full load is pretty fine though.

This is similar to that of how many radiators some should get for a custom loop. Generally speaking, a 120 mm AIO is a poor value for money. Not only do they perform on par with a low-mid tier air cooler, they are typically louder since they have a pump and a fan. The only place where a 120 mm AIO makes sense is in extremely small form factor PCs where the alternative may be a low profile CPU cooler, and even then it is debatable whether the AIO is a good choice.

Pretty bang on with where I would expect a 120 mm AIO to perform.
