Drivers should be on your primary drive with your os to work properly.

Ok, thanks. I am not going to but what happens if you put it on the HDD?

They probably won't work.

For guide on how to use the antistatic bag that the motherboard comes in, please watch this video:

According to Carey Holzman, there's no problem with putting the motherboard on the anti static bag. There are qualms and arguments from either side but I haven't heard of anyone shorting their mobo on the bad before.

Thanks, i have already watched all of Linus' build videos many times, so i think i am good hardware installation wise. I think that this build should go pretty smoothly :)

You can try getting something like a mod mat so you have a large area that you dont have to worry about putting things on. Dont be too gentle but dont be too rough. On my first build I was WAY to gentle and thought I broke the cpu putting down the retention arm :) otherwise its pretty easy. Just tske it step by step.

Haha, i will build it tomorrow. I don't think i need  modmat, i won't build computers too often. I will be touching the case frequently :)

Static shock gets a lot of folk in a tizzy when it comes to computer builds. But, unless you are in a very dry climate / low humidity environment and running around on carpet with wool socks n sweaters on, I find the static worries overblown.

Tell me, have YOU personally ever shorted out a motherboard or accessory from static? I hear lots of talk and worry, but from folks who I know who have hundreds of builds in less than ideal circumstances (no static mats, no grounding bracelets, etc.), not one has ever had damaged during a build from static discharge.

The worst shock I get is usually from the hard styrofoam sliding out of cardboard boxes. Otherwise, static shock seems like a overblown nonissue - please someone contradict my impressions if you feel I am wrong.
