4k monitor

hello world I am working on a 4k monitor project I am a student so money is a little bit of a problem 

so basically I want to add an HDMI port to this screen the screen is from this pc ( DELL XPS 15 9560 ) and the controller that I am going for is Adafruit TFP401 HDMI/DVI Decoder to 40-pin TTL Display

 so my question is : is this setup good any tips or ideas

So you are taking a laptop montor and turning it into a desktop one? That is pretty interesting

Unless you are doing this for fun and to kill some time, i wouldn't bother. 

Easier to get a part time job and simply save up the cash to buy.

honestly kill some time and gain experience in computer science as a student
