Not sure where to go with my monitor choice

Hi All,

I have been using my trusty Dell 2408wfp monitor for ages now and i love it but the time has come to replace. 

My PC got a recent upgrade to Ryzen 1600, 16GB RAM, Rx580 and i would like to be able to push on from 1920x1200.

 

I would love an ultrawide but they are super pricey, I am also thinking my rig right now prob wont cope with full 4k gaming so maybe that shouldn't be a consideration but then that does away with longer term rig developments that might manage it.

 

Generally just not sure where to be on this one. All I know is that I do want to go bigger than the 24" i have now.

Any advice, thoughts or options would be most welcome.

Have you considered higher refresh rate monitors?

Or you want to stick with 60Hz?

 Thanks for the reply @Eibe. I had considered a higher refresh rate, mainly to take advantage of FreeSync but again, I dont really know what I want and/or need. I guess a relatively future proof display that can allow me to stretch my rig more than it is now.

mainly gaming and watching web video content.

I play sport and shooters mainly with a bit of RPG on top. Titles such as CoD, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Fifa, Project Cars, Witcher, Frost Punk
