Router to Ethernet cable to Switch to PC

So my PC currently sits rather far from my router (about 10m away) so I bought a long ethernet cable to to compensate. Now my brother just built a computer however if possible I don't want to run another cable because it runs along the ceiling and it would be a lot of work to redo it. Is it possible to connect a network switch the end of my current ethernet cable and run two more off to connect to our respective computers?

Thanks a ton :)

Absolutely. Just dont buy anything that says "fast ethernet".  Its an oxymoron and its only 100mbit.

Thanks! I know I could do some basic research but I might as well ask the man majoring in computer networking and what he thinks. Any recommendations on which switch and brand? I've heard good things about D-Link?
