How would i install CS 1.6 on win 98?

I bought the steam verison of counter strike 1.6 and i want to install it on a period correct system with win 98. is there anyway to installer for win 98 from steam or something like that?

install it on a another pc and just grab the exe.a lot of older games don't require steam.IDK if this works speciffically for cs tho

Most of your old games didn't throw files all around the hard drive, or the registry, so grabbing the entire folder and placing it on the Win98 box, should be the trick.

I hope that hl folder copy paste works for you. 

That was my thought but I’m concerned if the steam DRM will stop you. I don’t think piracy is an option (for one you CAN get a virus.)
