Core i5-2500 (non-K best I can tell)

I would say $50 is about average, maybe on the higher side.

it is an i5-2500, and its price is "okay" but it depends on what you need it for, i dont think its worth getting because its 7 years old, the Ryzen 3 1200 is a bit faster than it, and that costs 94$ on amazon.

and im pretty sure a used Ryzen 3 1200 would cost the same or less than that, plus you get all the "2018" features with the newer motherboard.

I feel like if it was a K, it would say on the IHS.

Yah, I couldn't see a K on the IHS but it's tough to read as is so I wasn't sure if I missed it :P

There's a clear spot where I could read i5-2500, and a bit beyond that is empty. Looks like a non-K.

@Lurick @syn2112 @Crunchy Dragon

Thanks, dont people still run these in older builds with a 780/970/1060 level gpu sometimes? and are motherboards hard to find?

I feel like ot’s probably not worth bothering, :/

edit: ive seen 2500ks in some rigs but never a 2500 on second though

Motherboards usually aren't too hard to find, but they can be pricey.

I'd try for a 1366 mobo + X5650 ($30 on average) as you get an overclockable 6c/12t chip that is on par with a 1600.  If you can find a good deal on a mobo it's the BEST value for money aside for X79 with a $150 xeon

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

You can get them on ebay for 50$ buy it now with free shipping, more like 35 at auction. Not worth buying at this price.

Xeon e5649@4.4 GHz on Asus Rampage II Extreme or Gigabyte x58a-OC (whatever I feel like to set up at a time) , 6x4 GB Kingston HyperX 1600, Gainward GTX 670 Phantom, Samsung 840 Evo 240 GB, BeQuiet L8 530W
