Windows 7 on NVMe

I really need help with installing windows 7 to NVMe.

 

Before anyone says..NO, i'd rather kill myself before i install Windows 10...that OS is a disease and nothing else...plus the mobo (Huanan X79 V2.49 officially only supports W7, cause of the drivers)

 

With that out of the way, back to my problem. I've googled this shit for days now, from injecting NVMe and USB drivers into the ISO, to trying to have drivers in the USB to add them later in the setup...i wanted to clone windows 7 to the SSD but don't see it in windows...so i am legit stuck. I can sometimes see the drive, but can't install windows to it cause of some shitty ''you need to be able to boot from this, check your bios'' even tho i can change that on the fly if need be, sadly i can'tr even get into the setup if i have CSM to UEFI, just doesn't load at all...

 

Please, any advice is appreciated cause i'm losing my mind cause of it.

Have you tried going into diskpart, cleaning, and converting to mbr?

I don't know if you tried this tool, but Gigabyte has one that adds both USB 3 and NVMe drivers to a Windows 7 image and turns it into a bootable USB drive. All you'll need is a Windows 7 ISO, and that tool, and then it should boot.

Choose the one that is relevant to your motherboard.

 

Make sure you check the box for "Add NVMe drivers to an offline Windows 7 image," and leave the 3rd box checked after it auto-checks itself when you select to add NVMe driverse. So, you want to have all 3 check-boxes checked.

So then, maybe the issue is with NVMe, but with UEFI. Normally, you can turn off UEFI and install Windows 7, but it sounds like you're saying you need UEFI in order to install Windows 7 on the NVMe.

 

Windows 7 can still be installed with UEFI enabled. I think the only difference in the installation procedure is that you don't format the empty drive space before installing. But look over the guide for installing Win 7 with UEFI here:
