I've been viewing all processors and I have no idea which one is best suited for gaming. I need a detailed explaination of the types of intel processors like why so many models instead of just i3 i5 and i7?

https://www.msi.com/Motherboards

In this website underder filter on motherboard...we can see under chipset a lot of processor types. I need someone to describe each and every processor type and which is best suited for gaming

i3 6xxx/7xxx - old, not recommended

i3 8xxx - Ryzen 5 1600 beats

i5 6xxx/7xxx - Ryzen 5 1600 beats

i5 8xxx - Ryzen 5 2600/2600X is about the same

i7 6xxx/7xxx - sure it's better in gaming but i'd still take R7 over

i7 8xxx - best at gaming for a consumer chip

z usually means overclockable.

Yeah, you won't need something like an i7 if you're going to be just doing some light gaming and have a tight budget.

Aside from budget, also tell us what you would like to do with the computer other than gaming (if applicable)

What does enthusiast platform mean?

Best of the best. Think the i9 lineup, some of the higher end i7s like the 7800X.

Without a set budget for entire build, it's much more difficult to just blankly state "'X' motherboard is the best" because of various features like AC wifi, built-in audio quality, VRM design, CPU and memory overclocking capability etc, and it's only slightly easier to state "X" CPU is the best for your use case also without a set budget.

Personally, If gaming focused, I'd choose 8700k with Asus ROG Strix mobo, which It would almost have to be paired with at least a 240mm+ AIO for my temp preference.

For gaming plus other intensive tasks (streaming/VM's etc) Ryzen 2700X and ASRock taichi ultimate (cause 10gbit nic) with also a decent cooler.

That doesn't mean either of those platforms are best for you because your wants/needs will likely vary

CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ / MOBO: Abit NF7-S2G / GPU: WinFast A180BT 64MB / RAM: Mushkin DDR333 256MBx2 / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 120GB

Sooo like...

$0-$600?

$600-$1200?

$1200-$2000?

$2000+?

Medium budget is going to be VERY different for a person that makes $30,000 a year vs someone that makes $200,000 a year.
