Good watch for notifications?

So I have been looking for a smart watch for a while now. I got the Apple Watch 1 a few years back and didn’t like it and returned it. I am just really looking for a watch that can receive notifications on it and has a circular design preferably. I would like something priced south of 200 dollars.

Does the Gear S2 run Android Wear? Even if it does, WearOS is very limited on iOS iirc. 

 

OP would probably be better of just not buying one or getting a Series 2/3 since those are water resistant up to a like 50m

What can it do when paired to the 7? Does it mirror only? Rich notifications I know are an API that nothing else has.

If  you just want notifications I would recommend a pebble 2... but they got bought by fitbit in december of 2016 they are still multi-platform and fairly cheap though.

Replying to texts and 3rd party messaging apps inside the notification preview with Scribble/Dictate/Quick reply

Answering calls

Marking emails are read/trash/etc.

basic interaction with social media platforms like Twitter in the notification.

The Gear S3/Sport (e.g. Tizen OS) can answer/make calls.

I forgot except for support from the community the pebble watches could lose functionality at any time.

It casts the calls through the iPhone? I'm not aware of that being a feature allowed by iOS.

I feel like I wasn't able to, but I might be mis-remembering. 

 

Either way, I'd still say the Gear S3/Sport are great choices if you're okay with not being able to respond to messages and not having Apple Pay.

I can set like 10 options and pick from those

there ussually adequate enough for me to not take out my phone

I don't think you can, casting phone calls is as easy as using Bluetooth, responding to texts and apps requires encryption that anything other than the Apple Watch cannot be guaranteed to provide. 

 

It also required an Apple Dev API which does not exist on Android.

Isn't it obvious that if its not on Android then its not going to be on Tizen?

Considering Tizen is a good OS whereas Android Wear is garbage, no.
