8700k already overheating

You shouldn't be overclocking on the stock heatsink. Buy an aftermarket cooler. Something like a Cryorig H7 if you want to stay on the cheap side (although you won't be able to push it as far), or something like a Dark Rock Pro 3 Noctua NH D14/D15 if you want to overclock further.

You shouldnt be worried of parts underperforming, because this is a clear case of getting what you paid for. 

 

You should be worried about the lifespan of the CPU though.

Are you serious? You planned a long time for your build, asking alot of questions about different topics but you are using the 4700k stock cooler?

100% yes. Return to stock immediately. Maybe even dial it back below stock.  The fact that it's reaching 100C without thermal throttling is concerning, because it's going to fry your CPU. The reason it doesn't come with a cooler is because no stock cooler can sufficiently cool it. Buy a Cryorig H7.
