My main problems with gaming and entertainment

Guest

Lets start of simple:

If you had to write a life story of your great grandmother or Batman, which would be longer, more detailed?

Probably Batmans.

So my problem is that I'm scared of filling my head with pointless fictional information each time I watch a movie or play a game. I know the locations of all ammo nations in GTA's, but I don't know where the nearest hospital is. I don't know all the laws of thermodynamics, but I know the names of guardians of the galaxy, even thought I saw it once.

I know that the human "storage" is 2,5 PB, but I still feel like I'm wasting my brain room on pointless stuff. All the game maps, hiding spots, game dynamics, characters, stories, dialogues, is still in my head, even thought I have played each game once, or watched a movie.

Sorry for the long rant, if you have anything to add leave a reply.

Have someone hit you in the head. That may damage the brain enough that neurons which store these useless info will die.

What you're saying isn't a problem with gaming or entertainment, the problem is you. You could easily spend the time to find out about your family members, or to know where important locations are in relation to yourself. Same with any other piece of knowledge. If you don't seek it out yourself, you'll never learn it.

Okay, then change. Start reading books about thermodynamics. Start looking at maps of your area and locate hospitals, fire departments, and police stations. Forget all the fun stuff, because what will really get you through life is worrying about having fun and instead filling your mind with boring stuff like math.

How old are you, anyway? If you're still a teen you probably shouldn't worry about it, but if you're getting older then maybe, if you're truly worried about it, you should tidy up. But don't let go of all of the fun things, those are still necessary.

I'm pretty sure he's saying it's "his" problem with gaming and entertainment, not "the" problem with gaming and entertainment.

That doesn't change anything about what I said.

then read more non fictional books? And if your putting vidoes and games infront if real life that’s your own issue. Most people can game and have a normal life with no issues.

Now maybe if you have a mental illness then it would be bad to only watch movies and play games as it could distort your look at reality.

I’m hoping your a kid because when You move into adult hood you’ll have less time for all this “kid” stuff, unless you become super rich and then can do whatever you want all day long
