If you want Android, try getting the ZenPad 3S or Mediapad M3. The 5433 is pretty old at this point.

Title says all, need an upgrade from my mini 2, the tab s2 seems pretty decent, although i cant really gauge how good the soc is because i dont reall know or understand mobile CPUS, so for £200 is it good? Does it compare to any phone, like the note series or anything?

What size?

I used to sell the tab s2 along with a bunch of other tablets and what not at Best Buy and I would say if you want a cell phone to compare it to it is probably a galaxy S7. Not bad for the price but I am guessing that there are newer options that are potentially nay likely better. The hardware in it should be fine but Samsung is notoriously bad at keeping past devices up to date with software.

Never mind, it would probably be better to grab the tab s3, it has the same processor as the S7 and is a much nicer tablet.

Not bothered about size, but the s3 is way out of my budget, No more than £230, which the s2 comes under.

Software doesnt matter, its supported for a good while and I would probably end up with a custom rom.

Ok, it isn't a bad tablet... it just is running a mid-range processor from 3 years ago, and with that age comes a few other issues, such as you may want to replace it's battery soon after since lithium ion batteries are designed to last 2 years.

I dont like mediatek based tablets, i just accociate them with really cheap crappy tablets and since i cant really find a decent benchmark site, i cant find any statistics to say otherwise, and my s5 and s7 have a snapdragon (even tho i think it might be exynos but dm) which i know is good so i accociate them with being good.

There are plenty of shitty Snapdragon SoCs, and there isn't really such a thing as a non-crappy Android tablet these days sadly.

Nope, i would not buy it.

Old software, no updates, and it's already 2.5 years old - and it was only midrange performance level at launch already.

Plus, the battery life is bad for a Tablet.

Pros: Extremely low weight and thickness.

But yea.. kinda slow, and old software.

Custom Rom: Good Luck finding one. I haven't found anything decent on XDA, maybe there is a Lineage OS out there.

Pure Performance might be on Galaxy S5 / S6 level.. probably less than S6 level.

Consider the new ipad 2018 tho. Quite cheap with 300~ bucks if you find a small deal with 32gb, 100 bucks more for 128gb.

Since Android is pretty much dead on Android, and meh (this is coming from an android-guy, i've used ONLY Android smartphones since my Motorola Milestone back in 2010.). Even Custom Roms won't change the fact, that Android pretty poorly optimized for Tablets, and Apps even more.
