Yes. You need a battery as well. Without a battery, MacBooks will run at the lowest CPU multiplier available, ;) and don't forget the trackpad thermal sensor.

You'd be right. It can be done, but for the total price of the parts, you could actually buy an iMac.

Yeah but an iMac with an i5 and and only 2 thunderbolt ports and no Touch ID. In the MacBook desktop you can choose your screen.
