First off this isn't meant to shit on Fortnite or PUBG if you enjoy those games good on you. Everyone can play whatever they enjoy, but maybe you are a active player of these games and can recognize these issues that myself and others have with the game.

 

Fortnite especially has helped bring a lot of casual gamers and all my friends who aren't into PC Gaming are playing it constantly especially on mobile or even console. I tried both PUBG and Fornite but only lasted about 5 hours in each game. Getting the gist of all the controls is pretty simple. The common complaint is that it fortnite/pubg have no action and you're constantly just scavenging and once you actually see an enemy the fights aren't as exciting or mechanically sound like dedicated FPS games therefore not worth the wait. Playing with others also didn't make the experience any more enjoyable which is really rare for me. Most games i play like CS:GO and GTA to name a few become drastically more enjoyable with friends. Both games give you a REALLY NICE giant open map which i am big of in any games. The issue is that the entire map is dedicated to scavenging and killing while games that i absolutely love playing with giant maps like GTA and Skyrim give you so much to do. Seriously why aren't these games using the great map they already have and add different game modes that appeal to players who want something faster paced with a quicker payoff? I finished a couple times in the top 10 even got 2 later on and that still wasn't at all exciting to me.

ok then avoid RTS, turn based, an open world builder in a non unlimited mode ect.

It really doesn't matter how you did, if you enjoyed it, keep playing.  If not, find a different game and you don't have to tell everyone you didn't like it

Fortnite is so much faster when compared to PUBG because the map is smaller and some other reasons. This is the reason why many players play Fornite:BR over PUBG, it's fast and intense. Once, you die or eventually win, you can just hop onto another game and play more of it. 

 

For me, I get discouraged if there's a long period of me looting and then ending up dying to the first person I encounter... Due to that sole reason, I am not interested in PUBG as in Fortnite (another reason--it's free :P). 

 

In all honesty, Fortnite is one of the less boring games when it comes to Battle Royale games. Sure, CSGO is very action paced when you're aggressive and shoving your nose in the enemy's face but that does not always work because the enemies would figure out some time or another that you're going to play like that so you'll have to find a medium in which you can hold angles for a certain amount of time and times where it would be beneficial to go on the offense. 

 

tl;dr - It all comes down to opinion but I think that Fortnite is not as slow as you think. If you're good enough, you can go on the offense and win many fights.

i get you, battle royale is kinda slow. PUBG especially and while fortnite is faster, it still isn't constant excitement. I think part of the reason is that there isn't much variance in what you do. In Skyrim and GTA, you can do a plethora of things in those big open worlds. In Fornite or PUBG, you are always either looting, fighting or running to the next circle. Which is fine. It's my second-most played game right now because I can just chill with my brother or friends and just play a casual and fun game. Overwatch is still my #1 game by a huge margin simply because of how much fun I have to play it and that I love the mechanics in it but when I started playing PUBG, I knew that it would be a completely different and probably less-fun/action-packed experience for me which made me not disappointed in it because that was exactly what I was looking for.

I think you'll like Activision's take on it when they do this to CoD.

 

 

I like PUBG not for it's intense action, but because of the strategy. I do think the action could be a bit better. And the weapons need some better mechanics. But I haven't touched Fortnite because it's too cartoony and arcade-ish for me to really be into it.

The same reason solitare isn't a first person shooter.

The point is the slow pace with intense points.

It seems you want a more arcade experience. Run in guns blazing, kill kill die, rinse, repeat. I like Pubg because it's not like that. You actually have to plan where you're going, if you see someone cover is your first priority then you have the sniping trades.

Favourite end game was on a fog map in the corn fields, 12 people in the second to last circle, everyone prone trying to see the others. Crossbow and VSS I was unbeatable lol.

That's PUBG which is way too slow. Fortnite game times are 1/3 of PUBG

Different stroke for different folks I guess.  However I would argue that with the exception of netcode the mechanics of gun battles in PUBG far surpass that of CS:GO.  No ADS or ability to lean is a deal breaker for me in CS, also the closed nature of the maps just makes the game feel really lacking and restricted.  I loved CS back in the day and was excited when GO came out but as soon as I played it realised how much more there is to big scale shooters these days.  There is also a lot more strategy with regards to positioning and movement, not just learning the small map and where to point your gun at what time because that's where the enemies are at the same time every game.

 

I agree that there are pacing issues in BR games, but the quiet time makes the gun battles all the more exciting imo.

Fortnite/PUBG/Radical Heights can all be as boring or as fun as you make them. You could definately try and camp it out to the last few and make the game boring by not getting into any gun battles. I would have done this alot when I started Fortnite because I just wanted to win a game. Now that there are plenty of wins under the belt and winning is not an absolute must now for me, I go hunting immediately after landing and picking up a weapon. 

 

Also drop into popular places in games and it won't be boring when you constantly have people trying to kill you. Dusty Divot (aka Duysty Depot) now in Fortnite is absolute carnage. Its the new Tilted Towers. You drop in there and you won't be bored and if you manage to get a gun and survive the onslaught of players you will walk out of the area with anywhere from 6 to 10 kills in the first 3 minutes of the game.

I find Battle Royales bore me quite a bit. I am stuck playing fornite with a friend because he is too cheap to buy other games.
