Sounds like a good deal, but I would ask to see it run a stress test for a few minutes just to make sure it does not have issues. If that's not possible then I would be worried too, because selling all of that at just 400 seems a bit low. Just my 2 cents :)

Eh, it's not like you're getting it shipped. Test it out. Good deals can be had all the time on Craigslist, especially close to months end when people have bills to pay. I bought a really wicked PC, DX Racer chair, 4k monitor, top end Corsair peripherals for $1,400.

Yeah that deal seems a bit weird to me. The other stuff without the system are worth a decent amount.

Peripherals hold little to no value when they're lower end. If he's getting rid of the computer all together, it's just easier to sell everything as a set.

Like others have said, make sure that the system works, and run some benchmarks. It sounds too good to be true, but you never know. As far as avoiding scams in the future, create the same part list on pcpartpicker.com, and compare the part list. If the pcpartpicker one is marginally higher (like 2x or more) then the offer, it may be a scam. It can never hurt to ask someone for tests before you buy it as well (maybe even make sure it boots when you get it, like Linus has done in scrapyard wars before)

Remember, “as is” could mean anything. Could be in great shape. Could be broken. It also doesn’t hurt to ask why they’re selling it, in person. Most people aren’t great actors, so if there is something wrong with it (if they’re lying) you might be able to tell. That’s my two cents. Good luck!
