2600 vs 2600x

What's the difference between the R5 2600x and 2600?

 I can't seem to find any reviews of the 2600 non x and was wondering if it was going to be like last gen where you can just overclock the 2600 to match the 2600x in performance and save yourself some money.

better stock cooler, overclocked a bit out of box, maybe binned slightly higher

clock speed difference, possibly in overclocking potential as well.

 

for saving money, the last gen 1600 is still the way to go. 2000 series improved only a little, though price increase is also little.

2600x = overclocked 2600.

If it's anything like the 1600 vs 1600x, max overclock will be about .1Ghz of each other and you lose the stock cooler. If that sweet not guaranteed .1Ghz is worth it to you, go for it.

 

On the opposite spectrum, the X versions are supposed to get you at those clock speed with lower voltage.

They differ from the cooler tho, the 2600X for $30 more than the 2600 but has a Wraith Spire instead of Wraith Stealth

Also from the base frequencies, i suggest get the 2600 since it has lower TDP and just buy a Noctua NH-U12S (example) and get yourself the same performance at lower price and TDP
