Unusually High CPU and RAM Usage on Boot and Thereafter

Hello there. 

 

I've been experiencing some issues with my computer lately escalating to today.

 

Over the past few days my computer has been showing unusually high CPU and RAM usage after using my computer for a while and today after the same issues occurred I restarted my computer to see CPU usage of around 80-100% and RAM usage of 96%. The only programs that were open were the ones that were set to open on startup: Spotify, Discord and task manager.

 

Rainmeter and Task Manager have been showing this quite frankly ridiculously high resource usage and it has been reflected in the use of the computer as well. Something that seems a bit unusual is that adding up the RAM usage of processes in task manager seems to come up short to the summarised value that task manager shows at the top. I am using 8GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM and can supply more details as necessary.

 

Thank you preemptively for your help, I've been working on this for a few hours and it's so hot in England right now and I have college work due in tomorrow so as you can imagine I'm a little stressed

Check the Task Manager set to sort by CPU or RAM usage.

I did do and nothing seems unusually high on both which is what's weird to me.
