Hey whats up, I have 16gb Corsair LPX 3000 speed ram and an Asus Z370-E MOBO. So in the BIOS i set the XMP profile to 3000, and I set the DRAM frequency though to 3200, will it actually run at 3200 instead of the XMP profile 3000? Just wondering most of yall with say whats the point haha But im just tinkering around having fun with OC. Thanks for the input dudes.

Yes. If it is stable that is.

Overclocking is the act of making something run at higher speeds than the manufacturer made them run/originally intended it to run. So if they made the RAM, tested it at 3200Mhz and it was unstable (with normal settings), they clocked it down and it did run at 3000Mhz they just slapped a sticker '3000Mhz' on it and now it's 3000Mhz memory. But if you can tinker enough with the settings to have it run at 3200Mhz, than yea you made it 3200Mhz RAM.

It's like buying the i5 8500 over the i5 8400, you're essentially buying the same CPU, but Intel has tested it to be able to run at slightly higher speeds and be stable at that.
