When you upgrade, don't get a "gaming" headset.

Get the modmic or massdrop minimic along with a decent pair of open headphones like the SR850, SHP9500s, or ATH-AD500x.

I just use regular headphones and my webcam for a mic. Everyone can hear me clearly. I don't know why everyone spends so much money on a mic that they just use for gaming.

I for one appreciate if someone has a decent microphone / audio setup nothing worse than someone with a cheapo mic/setup picking up all their background noise while your trying to hear footsteps etc.  For casual gaming I agree you don't need to spend much but if your playing at all competitively this could potentially ruin a game.

Cheers.
