With that video Linus posted, and how well it actually works over water with one monitor receiving the signal it makes me wonder could this be used for more than one monitor? How well would this work for setting up say a wall of monitors that all get their signal through one transmitter.

Or am I thinking this incorrectly?

Corsair 4000D RGB

Asus B550 Tuf Gaming II

Asus 7700XT Tuf Gaming

AMD 5600x3d

32gb 3200mhz gskil

you are thinking incorrectly, you can't split the bandwidth to multiple monitors, that would be like trying to take one HDMI cable and putting a splitter on it to connect to multiple monitors.

Umm, you mean a splitter like this?

Because they do exist, additionally they exist to stretch a single display across multiple monitors.

the device used in the video was already compressing the signal to get it to go through the single wire, there is not enough bandwidth left to split it and those splitters are hit or miss depending on the cable length whether they even work.

???

HDMI splitters are a thing, and they work, they just do. As long as you're withing specs of the splitter (cable length, compatible signal and such).

As long as they don't have signal issues, passing this signal in a splitter to show the same image to multiple monitors shouldn't be a problem.

they barely had a stable signal going to the monitor as it was, do you think adding more cables and more connections is not gonna cause problems?

we could always suggest Linus do a follow up video to see what would happen.

That was showing a worst case scenario, the wire was uninsulated and it was raining (that obviously shouldn't be done : water on an exposed wire that is transmitting data ... )

It was only to showcase/torture test the technology. I'm pretty sure it works fine on an appropriate wire.
