HELP PLEASE

hey so i got my new inspiron desktop from dell with 12 g of ram and an i5-7400 processor. I got this thing for  like 580 bucks. Its a prebuilt as it is the first desktop i have. I'm thinking about getting an i7-8700 processor. Is it worth it? can i use it? also, what other modifications can i do to my dell desktop? if you guys can, reply and maybe drop a link to a case that i can use!

You can't use it on that motherboard, and honestly I wouldn't bother spending that much on an upgrade of an OEM system. They don't use standardized motherboards most of the time. You'd probably be better off getting a B or H series board, an i5 8400, a new PSU, and a new case.
